How does the roll-over to 2021 work?
Roll-over credits will be issued for the registration portion of the amount paid, as well as additional services (e.g. additional athlete gear) already paid for this year’s event.
2020 registrants can apply this roll-over credit (a unique registration credit code will be e-mailed to you by Fall 2020) when registration for the 2021 Gran Fondo Jasper opens.
Upon registering for the 2021 event, participants would then enter the registration credit from the 2020 event. Participants will have until January 31, 2021 to make use of the roll-over credit.
Example: You paid $175.00 to ride the 2020 Medio Fondo. A credit sum of $195.00 will then be available for 2021 registration. You register for the 2021 event (opening in late 2020) and enter the credit code during the registration process.
As per our Refund Policy, no refund in any amount will be provided.
If registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable, why are you offering the roll-over credit?
You paid good money to be a part of the Gran Fondo Jasper and mountain experience. We recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic was outside of anyone’s control, and have therefore tried to find the best solution possible. We hope that it can balance the interest of our entrants as well as maintain the viability of future events.
Why can’t I get a full refund?
Your entry fee supports the costs associated with producing the event. Those costs are incurred over the weeks and months leading up to the race. In other words, we’ve spent your money on all of the things that go into producing the Gran Fondo Jasper (e.g. equipment, advertising, communications, staff costs, etc.) and cannot refund money that has been spent.
Like many businesses, Multisportscanada has been substantially impacted due to the pandemic. Providing a full rollover is a huge financial risk and comes at significant cost to the organizers and staff. However, we value the patronage of our participants and are doing everything we can to make 2021 as affordable as possible.
What if I don’t decide to roll-over my entry to next year?
That is up to you. You do not have to roll-over your entry fee to the 2021 event. We do offer two other options that you may want to consider:
- Roll-over to 2022: You may roll-over your 2020 entry to 2022, though this option will be subject to our regular roll-over policy and subject to additional $50 + tax and processing fees. If you decide not to signup for 2021, please reach out to us.
- Existing Transfer Policy: For a transfer fee of $25 + tax (processing fee included), an entry can be transferred to another individual. For example, if Person A registered for the event but decided they couldn’t attend (e.g. injury, scheduling conflict), Person A can transfer the entry to Person B. The registered participant (e.g. Person A) must register for the 2021 event and then complete the transfer option via the online registration system.
How long will I have to use my roll-over credit for my 2021 registration?
Once you receive your roll-over credit code via e-mail, you will have until January 31, 2021 to register for the 2021 Gran Fondo Jasper. The codes will be issued in Fall 2020 – at the same time we open registration for next year’s event.
Do I get a roll-over credit on extra services purchased (e.g. merchandise)?
Yes. The details will be the same as with the entry fee roll-over credit. You will receive an e-mail in Fall 2020 with the details on how to redeem this roll-over credit.
This FAQ should answer many of your questions relating to the event. If you have questions or need more clarification, please e-mail us at: email@example.com, and we will do our best to reply to you as soon as possible.
