Train for Gran Fondo Jasper Virtual Marmot Climb Series

Marmot Hill Climb
Gran Fondo Jasper’s Signature Climb

The Marmot Hill Climb is the defining ascent of Gran Fondo Jasper — a steady, scenic climb on quiet mountain roads through Jasper National Park.

Ranked Alberta’s #1 categorized climb by Canadian Cycling Magazine, Marmot delivers a rewarding challenge without being overwhelming. The gradient is consistent, the pavement is smooth, and riders of all abilities successfully complete the climb each year by pacing smart and riding within themselves.

This doesn’t have to be about speed — it’s about the experience.

Take in the views, find your rhythm, and enjoy one of the most memorable stretches of road cycling in the Rockies.

A Climb with Pro-Race History

The Marmot Hill Climb has also been tested at the highest level. It was an official timed climb during the 2015 Tour of Alberta, with WorldTour and elite professional riders recording the following benchmark times:

  • 🏔️ Long, steady climb — ideal for controlled pacing

  • ✅ Achievable for first-time Fondo riders

  • 🌄 Exceptional alpine scenery throughout

For riders chasing a personal best, the fastest male and female climbers will earn KOM / QOM honours, each receiving a custom Marmot Hill Climb jersey.

Whether you’re riding for the challenge, the views, or the jersey — Marmot is a climb you’ll be proud to finish.
